Adlab Ltd. shall use personal information obtained from our customers exclusively for the following purposes. Please see “The handling of personal information” for more details.

1. To contact our customers in order to operate more smoothly.
2. To publish the personal information permitted by the principal (“principal” is defined hereafter as the specific individual identified by the personal information) exclusively within the Portfolio
3. To use in the course of in-house production
4. To use for advertising and services in response to orders
5. To use for contact regarding job offers, etc. from outside of the Portfolio
6. To notify of the changes as to the rules and regulations/ handling of the personal information
In the case where permission has not been granted in advance to publish personal information, we shall not disclose any part of the personal information to third parties.

1. The definition of Personal Information

Adlab Ltd. acknowledges “personal information” as
a) information relating to living individuals stipulated by the Law Concerning the Protection of Personal Information (e.g. name, date of birth, and other information which can be used to identify specific individuals),
b) information used in connection with specific individuals such as email address, user ID, password, credit card information, and
c) extra information such as hobby, family structure, age, etc.

Adlab Ltd. shall handle the following personal information:
(1) Information which can be used to identify specific individuals provided by advertisers, media agencies, collaborating companies, etc.;
(2) Information which can be used to identify specific individuals obtained by questionnaires, marketing research, etc.;
(3) Information which can be used to identify specific individuals obtained by other business operations;
(4) Information which can be used to identify specific individuals who are employed by Adlab Ltd.

In addition, we shall handle the personal information which itself cannot identify the specific individuals but can identify easily by collating with other information. The personal information mentioned above can be of any form, including paper, image, sound, electronic data, etc.

2. Specifying the purposes of use of personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall endeavor to specify the purposes of use when handling personal information.

3. The purposes of use of personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall use the personal information related to advertisers and media agencies obtained through the business operation in advertising services and productions etc. for the following purposes:
(1) To facilitate operation in advertising services and production;
(2) To serve better in our business;
(3) To provide the information beneficial to advertisers and media agencies.

4. Restriction on the use of personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall not handle the personal information beyond the scope necessary for use without receiving the consent of the principal in advance. In the case of a business merger, etc. where we could obtain personal information, we shall handle personal information within the scope of purposes of use regulated before the merger if the consent has not been received in advance, excluding the following cases:
(1) The cases provided by law as exceptions;
(2) Cases where it is necessary for the protection of human life, body or property and it is difficult to receive the consent of the principal;
(3) Special cases where it is necessary for the improvement of public health and the contribution to the sound growth of juveniles and it is difficult to receive the consent of the principal;
(4) Cases where the national and local authority or its subcontractors are obligated to execute the operation in accordance with the law and receiving the consent might potentially threaten the execution of the relevant operation.

5. Lawful means to obtain the personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall use only lawful means to obtain personal information and shall not use any false or illegal means. We shall endeavor to ensure not to collect personal information from those under the age of 15 without the parental consent.

6. Notifying of the purposes of use of personal information on acquisition of personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall publicly announce in advance the purposes of use when obtaining personal information, excluding the following cases:
(1) Cases where there is a potential threat to life, body, property, rights, interests of the principal or third parties if notifying the principal or announcing publicly;
(2) Cases where there is a potential threat to life, body, property, rights, interests of Adlab Ltd. if notifying the principal or announcing publicly;
(3) Cases where the national and local authority or its subcontractors are obligated to execute the operation in accordance with the law and notifying the principal or announcing publicly might potentially threaten the execution of the relevant operation;
(4) Cases where the purposes of use are obvious under the circumstance of the acquisition of the information.

7. The changes of purposes of use of personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall not modify the purposes of use of personal information beyond the scope which is reasonably considered relevant to the prior purposes of use, and shall notify the principal of, or publicly announce, the modified purposes of use.

8. Security of personal information and supervision of employees

Adlab Ltd. shall set basic principles and information security policies to prevent illegal access to or loss, destruction, leakage, etc. of personal information and promote security measures, and shall establish the Information Security Committee and put the employees under the necessary and appropriate supervision.

9. Supervision to the subcontractors

In the case of outsourcing all and/or part of the handling of personal information, Adlab Ltd. shall request the subcontractor to sign the contract which includes confidentiality requirements, or to abide by the Terms of service stipulated by Adlab Ltd., and shall give necessary and appropriate supervision in order to monitor the security of personal information.

10. Restrictions of provision to third parties

Adlab Ltd. shall not provide personal information to third parties, excluding the following cases:
(1) The cases provided by law as exceptions;
(2) Cases necessary for the protection of human life, body or property where it is difficult to receive the consent of the principal;
(3) Special cases necessary for the improvement of public health and the contribution to the sound growth of juveniles where it is difficult to receive the consent of the principal;
(4) Cases where the national and local authority or its subcontractors are obligated to execute the operation in accordance with the law and receiving the consent might potentially threaten the execution of the relevant operation;
(5) Cases where one of the following have been communicated or publicly announced in advance:

NOTE: The following cases do not apply to the third parties mentioned above:
(1) Cases where Adlab Ltd. outsources the handling of all and/or part of personal information within the scope necessary for the achievement of the purposes of use;
(2) Cases where the personal information is provided as a result of business succession such as a merger, etc.;
(3) In the case of joint use of personal information with a specified party, Adlab ltd. shall notify in advance or ensure easy accessibility to the fact that the personal information will be used jointly by a specified party, the items of personal information that will be used jointly, the party who will be jointly using the information, the purposes of use by that party, and names or titles of individuals responsible for control of relevant personal information at that party.

In the case of joint use of personal information with a specified party, when modifying the purposes of use, the names or titles of individuals responsible for control will by notified in advance or ensured easy accessibility by Adlab Ltd. to the modified contents.

11. Public announcement of items relating to personal information, etc.

Adlab Ltd. shall ensure easy accessibility to the following items relating to personal information and shall promptly respond to requests by principals.
(1) Purposes of use of personal information,
(2) Contact point regarding personal information

12. Disclosure of Personal information

Adlab Ltd. shall promptly disclose personal information on request by the principal, excluding the following cases, where all and/or part of the information may not be disclosed, in which case the principal shall be notified promptly.
(1) Cases where there is a potential threat to human life, body, property, rights or interests of third parties;
(2) Cases where there is a potential threat to fair operation of Adlab Ltd;
(3) Cases which violate other laws and regulations.

13. Correction of personal information, etc.

In the case that the principal requests the suspension of use and deletion of the personal information (hereafter referred to “suspension of use, etc.”) for the reason that the information is handled beyond the scope of purposes of use which has been publicly announced in advance, or for the reason that the information has been obtained by false or illegal means, Adlab Ltd. shall promptly conduct appropriate research and on the basis of the result of the research shall issue suspension of use, etc. and notify the principal of said action. In the case that considerable expense is required for suspension of use of personal information, or that it is difficult to issue the suspension of use of personal information, alternative measures shall be taken to protect the principal’s right and interest when possible.

13. Explanation of action

Adlab.Ltd. shall endeavor to provide explanations for either of the following actions taken against requests by principal:
(1) Not notifying with the purposes of use
(2) Not disclosing all and/or part of personal information
(3) Not issuing suspension of use of personal information
(4) Not discontinuing the provision of personal information to third parties
